About Us

A Little History:

Our group was first incorporated in October 1992 under the name of Society for Growing Australian Plants - Melton Inc. When the Victorian body changed its name, we followed suit and our new incorporated name became the Australian Plants Society - Melton & Bacchus Marsh Inc. in 1998.

Originally, meetings were conducted at Mowbray College (Melton) but since January 2001 we call the Willows Historic Park our home.

Our Aim:

Is to promote the growing of native Australian plants within a friendly and learning environment. Members are able to take part in excursions to all parts of the state, see and learn about native plants, hear our expert guest speakers and take part in open discussions on native plants at monthly meetings.
